To understand fascial restrictions you need a basic knowledge of fascia. Your fascial system is a interwoven network of fibrous, elastic connective tissue that surrounds your muscle, bone, blood vessels, nerves, organs all the way down to the cellular level. Imagine a single continuous three dimensional structure from head to toe. That is what fascia is.
The importance of fascia is the stability it provides. Think about the poles on a tent or the white fibrous material in an orange. That is what fascia does. When the poles get damaged the tent suffers. The same with your fascia. If it is damaged your body suffers.
